Occupying a 200-acre tropical site in the Lake Buena Vista area, the Marriott World Center has long served as one of the Southeast’s premier destinations for conventions, meetings, and large-scale events. As the hospitality and events market continued to evolve, the property sought to maintain its competitive position through a comprehensive transformation of its meeting and event facilities. The existing spaces, while highly functional, no longer reflected the contemporary expectations of guests and event planners, creating an opportunity to reimagine the experience while enhancing the long-term value of the property.

The renovation focused on the hotel’s pre-function areas, meeting rooms, and ballroom facilities, introducing a refreshed material palette, updated furnishings, and a more contemporary design language throughout. Beyond aesthetic improvements, the project reexamined the organization and functionality of the event spaces, resulting in strategic planning interventions that expanded the owner’s vision and significantly improved the marketability of the venue. The design carefully balances the flexibility and technical performance required of modern meeting environments with the sophistication and elegance expected of a premier hospitality destination. By combining adaptable “black box” event capabilities with refined banquet settings and a more diverse mix of room sizes, the renewed facility is positioned to accommodate a broader range of events while reinforcing its status as a landmark convention destination for years to come.
