gary player golf club planning
St. Lucia
Shaped by a site of exceptional beauty and complexity, the resort’s vision emerged through a collaborative planning and design process focused on aligning development goals with the realities of the landscape. From the earliest stages of the project, careful consideration was given to establishing an achievable program for the resort’s various components while developing an architectural identity that responded authentically to both the setting and the client’s aspirations. The result is a design approach rooted in a balance between environmental sensitivity, operational feasibility, and long-term placemaking.
The site’s natural features and dramatic topography played a central role in guiding the evolution of the master plan, influencing everything from land use and circulation strategies to the placement and character of individual buildings. Rather than imposing a predetermined solution, the architecture was shaped by the opportunities and constraints inherent to the landscape, allowing development to emerge as an extension of the site itself. At the same time, the client’s distinctive vision informed the conceptual architectural language, helping to establish a cohesive identity across the resort while creating a strong connection between the built environment and its surrounding context.
