Roberto Bucheli Miranda

Roberto is an architect and designer with over a decade of experience, originally from Quito, Ecuador. Since joining BLUR Workshop in 2018, he has brought a diverse range of expertise shaped by his work in design-build residential practice, teaching at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and his technical background as a façade consultant.

Roberto’s strengths span design leadership, complex geometries, and advanced envelope consulting, guiding projects from schematic design through construction. His creativity is showcased in installations such as the Custom Cast Glass Brick Façade Wall - an LED-programmable, remotely controlled feature, along with the Moiré Pinup Wall, a kinetic surface responding to movement. Both, created in collaboration with classmates, are permanently installed in Georgia Tech’s Hinman Research Building.

Before joining BLUR, Roberto worked as a façade consultant, developing detailed assemblies, managing procurement, and performing thermal analyses for projects by Shigeru Ban and Herzog & de Meuron.

At BLUR, he has been integral to projects including the Radford Highlander Hotel, a 32-story unbuilt Miami tower, the Gathering House at Lake Oconee, and a waterpark facility in Colorado. His technical rigor, organization, and communication have been vital to their success.

Passionate about innovative and precise design, Roberto merges emerging technologies with creative problem-solving. OUtside of work, he enjoys tennis, soccer, and discovering new indie and electronic music.
