Matt graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture. He graduated early and ahead of his fellow architecture classmates and was recognized and awarded throughout his education. Prior to joining BLUR Workshop, he also spent time at firms in New York City and a summer with specialized contractors in North Georgia. He is driven by a fascination and desire to expand his horizons. Matt’s work has ranged from digital to physical, and small to large. He also has experience with freelance graphic design, foundation construction, master planning, furniture design, material experimentation, digital fabrication, and enjoys pushing the boundaries of his architectural education. He is not an archer seeking a bullseye, but rather he is chasing after the ghost of a renaissance man. His wide range of interests and constant push for self-improvement have created a breadth of expertise that he constantly draws on to imbue his creations with meaning.
Since joining BLUR Workshop, Matt has continued stroke the flame of his intellect by pursuing exposure to greater skills and knowledge. He is currently working on a number of projects that include a large masterplan for a lifestyle center in the Rocky Mountains, a surfing and entertainment park in Texas, and the renovation of the resort court at the Hyatt Regency Aruba. His lifelong interest in design, architecture, and the impact of the built environment on the people within it focuses his energy and fuels his desire to learn. His enthusiasm and curiosity make him a perfect fit within the firm, reflecting the core values upon which BLUR Workshop was founded.
