Katherine lando
Katherine, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, graduated with Honors from the North Carolina State University School of Architecture. During her time at NC State, she contributed to her first professional project, the $160 million Plant Sciences Building on Centennial Campus. She also studied abroad in Prague, where she further shaped her perspective on how architecture can influence culture, movement, and everyday experience.
At BLUR, Katherine has worked across a diverse range of project types, most recently leading design efforts for a new dog shelter and veterinary medical facility for FurKids Atlanta. The project blends highly technical planning with playful, community focused elements - creating spaces that support both animal and human connection. She has also contributed to the design of a 49-unit condo tower in the Caribbean, with a focus on amenity-rich living including a pool, fitness center, and coffee shop.
In 2020, Katherine served on the AIA South Carolina 2020 Awards Jury as the youngest juror. She is currently pursuing her architectural license through the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and continues to expand her technical and design expertise.
Katherine approaches every project with a strong focus on user experience, visual storytelling, and detailed execution. Known for her graphic clarity and collaborative mindset, she brings energy and precision to every phase of the design process. Outside of the office, she is an avid gym-goer and can often be found enjoying Atlanta’s beltline.
