GULF STATE PARK PLANNING

Gulf Shores, Alabama

Gulf Shores occupies a rare stretch of Alabama’s limited coastline where one of the hemisphere’s largest marsh systems meets the Gulf, creating an extraordinary landscape shaped by the convergence of salt and fresh water. These unique geological conditions offer visitors an immersive connection to one of the region’s most distinctive natural environments. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed into a thoughtfully planned resort community where pedestrian pathways, bicycle routes, water taxis, and trolley connections provide seamless access throughout the property. Centered around a coastal freshwater lake, the development concentrates activity within carefully designed areas while preserving thousands of acres of surrounding wetlands, waterways, and untouched landscapes. At the heart of the destination, a full-service luxury resort hotel is complemented by convention and conference facilities strategically positioned between the lake and the beach, providing exceptional views and direct access to both environments. Gulf Shores establishes a new model for coastal development, balancing world-class recreation and hospitality with the long-term preservation of Alabama’s most valuable natural resources.
