Brian Lachnicht

Brian joined BLUR in 2025 after completing his Master of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Before that, he earned his Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida in 2022. After UF, he took a year to work in Orlando, where he gained hands-on experience with hospitality, sustainability, and healthcare projects. This time in the field gave him a strong foundation in both design and project coordination, and ultimately inspired him to return to graduate school to further develop his skills and creative voice.

Brian’s interest in architecture started early—sparked by a childhood fascination with Frank Lloyd Wright and countless hours spent building with LEGO and K’NEX. What began as playful exploration quickly became a serious passion for how spaces are formed and how they shape the people who use them. At Georgia Tech, he continued to explore those themes through a rigorous design education focused on innovation and sustainability.

He brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented perspective to every project, grounded in curiosity and a desire to create meaningful spaces that connect people to each other and their environment. Brian is especially interested in how architecture can bridge natural and built systems, and how design can tell stories that resonate at both personal and public scales.

Outside of BLUR, Brian is an outdoor enthusiast and lifelong sailor who finds inspiration in the rhythms of nature and the open water. He spends much of his free time adventuring with his wife and their dog, Amelia—who’s always ready to explore, whether it’s a hiking trail, the beach, or just a new neighborhood in town.
