Carlos joins BLUR Workshop after graduating from the University of Florida’s class of 2019, where he completed both his Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees. Carlos has a humanistic approach to design and focuses heavily on the conceptual theory of architectural space from the larger picture to the most intimate of details. Originating from a visual arts background, he searches to create an artistic and immersive atmosphere in his work, often giving his designs an added layer of dimension. He believes that space is not only a visual series of created volumes, but also a mental construction of varying ideas and stories.

Before graduate school, Carlos practiced at the design firm, The Lunz Group, in Lakeland, Florida where he worked on mixed-use office space, hospitality, residential, education, aviation, warehouse, and tenant buildout projects. Carlos created many of the firm’s project visualizations while also drawing and coordinating construction documents. His most significant projects include the design and renovation of a six-story boutique hotel in Winter Haven, Florida and an interior renovation of a mixed-use office space for a community centered co-working company in Lakeland, Florida. Currently at BLUR, he is a key member of the recently announced Virgin Hotel Miami team. Carlos has also contributed his schematic and conceptual design efforts into winning the project for NOAA hurricane hunters’ hanger at Lakeland Regional Airport. This professional experience along with Carlos’ thoughtful and calm demeanor and clear, concise focus at all times makes him a highly valued member of the BLUR Workshop team.
