Lauren Fowler Thomas
Lauren joins BLUR Workshop with a broad range of architectural, art and design experience. Having started her career in drawing and painting, her interest and focus started to shift to architecture after feeling the need to go beyond two-dimensional space. She grew up around architecture, is inspired by her architect father and also feels an emotional connection to the creation of space. She is passionate about creating meaningful places -from streetscapes and exterior elements to interior ambiance and guest experience. Lauren’s background in Fine Arts gives her the ability to think with her hand, by crafting each line and designing spaces as she draws them. Lauren’s comes to us from Cooper Carry where she worked on notable projects such as the Boar’s Head Resort Renovation just off the campus of University of Virginia, the renovation of Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, and ONE DAYTONA a lifestyle and entertainment center in Daytona Beach where she was instrumental in the design and documentation over four years. Currently at BLUR, she is working on a large masterplan for a residential and mixed-use community in Colorado and a confidential mixed-use high rise in Miami.
Complementing her artistic and design capability, Lauren has a self-described energetic, eclectic and unique personality. She is an Atlanta native who enjoys everything the city has to offer, from festivals and concerts to working in her garden under the city’s famous tree canopy. She also loves to travel and studied abroad in Italy. Lauren’s fun persona and exceptional artistic capabilities make a her a great addition to the BLUR team.
