With over a decade of hospitality experience, Kelly has worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from business hotels, convention hotels and high-end private resorts. Over the course of her career, she has designed projects in both the United States and abroad for brands including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Regent, Royal Sonesta and Westin. Her eye for detail and versatility allows her to impact the design process at every stage and at every scale. She always prioritizes the guest experience whether she’s developing design concepts for an entire property, space planning a lobby, selecting FF&E or scrutinizing every reveal in a piece of millwork. With every step in the design process, Kelly is sensitive to how each decision impacts the project’s schedule, budget, and ultimately the guest experience. Her skillfulness as a designer and strengths in space planning, millwork design, coordination of full documentation and FF&E selection have led to the successful execution of many projects.
Although the majority of Kelly’s career has been in Atlanta, she spent time in her hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana working on a number of projects to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Her work there ranged from contract administration on a LEED Silver Elementary school to schematic design on a multi-tenant neighborhood revitalization project to project management on various residential renovations. Kelly eventually returned to Atlanta in 2012 and joined the BLUR workshop team. While Kelly’s heart may be in New Orleans, her passion lies in hospitality design.
