Having always been drawn to creative fields, Michael started his professional life in advertising. It was the combination of intensity, rigor and creativity within the advertising industry that inspired him to transition to the field of architecture. This dual career path has given Michael a strong balance between conceptual thinking and attention to detail that makes him a valuable member of the BLUR Workshop team.

He is currently working on a ground-up hotel on Grand Cayman Island. The project features 282 guestrooms, large amenity deck with an infinity edge pool, 3-Meal Restaurant, and to top it off, a roof top bar with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea.

Recently Michael completed an expansion of the report court at the Hyatt Regency Aruba. This project converted a rarely used event deck into a vibrant, adult pool experience directly adjacent to Palm Beach. Concurrently with the pool construction, Michael worked on the renovation of the Spa and construction of a new Regency Club at the same property. The programmatic complexity, coupled with the challenges of building internationally have set the stage for Michael to demonstrate his exemplary qualities as a project leader and client asset.

Prior to his Caribbean projects, Michael led the architectural effort in the design and documentation of a stunning renovation to a historic hotel situated in Charlotte, North Carolina. The renovation included a transformation of all public space and guestrooms, and a re-imagination of the exterior terrace lounge. He also worked on the recently opened Fiorenzo Steakhouse at the Hyatt Regency Orlando which featured redesigned flexible seating arrangements, breakfast buffet renovated bar and wine room.

Whether it is a ground up or a renovation project, Michael is able to contribute to the design and assist with the management of the internal design team, consultants and contractors. He enjoys seeing projects evolve from concepts to a built reality.
