Located in the heart of Atlanta’s Midtown neighborhood, the Hyatt Midtown is a boutique sized hotel that nestles between Peachtree St. and the residential neighborhoods that border Piedmont Park.  It was originally built as a Wyndham property in 1987, but had fallen into disrepair and lost its flag.  While previously working at tvsdesign, members of BLUR Workshop led the design effort to transform the interiors into a sophisticated and intimate hotel, unique in the Hyatt portfolio.  Conceived as the "Jewel of Midtown", the lobby features a custom faceted reception desk and Swarovski chandelier.  Shades of amethyst and gold compliment warm woods and white marble throughout.  As part of the larger planning strategy, the lobby level was reconfigured to take advantage of the views along 10th Street and engage the vibrant Midtown neighborhood. The overall objective was to create spaces that flowed, from lobby to lounge, and then from lounge to restaurant, to provide flexibility and create a different guest experience from day to night.
