Greg has spent his life around buildings and interiors coming to life. After visiting a Frank Lloyd Wright designed house at the age of five he began a constant and unwavering interest in the built environment, and in particular, with blurring the lines between architecture and interior design. The family residential construction business served as a learning laboratory and offered early insight into how design ideas are turned into reality.
As a Senior Associate and Senior Project designer at HBA Atlanta, he directed every aspect of the creation of luxury interiors for hotels, private residences and exclusive offices. With 20 years of international design experience he became well known for his ability to provide exclusive designs while maintaining warm, cooperative and unpretentious relationships with all. A lover of the diversity of people and cultures, he takes pleasure in discovering what makes each project a reflection of its unique collection of stake holders. The resulting projects such as: Park Hyatt Hyderabad, Guan Fang Hotel Kunming, and Hilton Salwa Beach in Qatar are among his most notable recent creations. He joined BLUR workshop in 2016, and is excited to work with a team that seamlessly provides both architectural and interior design services within an environment that respects and celebrates each team member’s unique perspective and contributions.
Greg is fascinated with historic buildings and in particular those of the rural vernacular styles in the South East. He spends many a weekend day traveling the back roads in search of the old, the quirky, and the frankly decrepit structures of our agrarian past. And he never turns down an opportunity to get inside a house museum, to take a Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation ‘ramble’, or to sit on the front porch with an ancient resident who can bring the past to life through memories of place. He is delighted to be currently designing the interior restoration of Atlanta’s most notorious aged lodgings, the Hotel Clermont.
